I am well over 25 and deal with loneliness. It seems like it's been a chronic problem for me. I have felt that way practically all of my life. I've had friends, but not a whole lot.

Right now I have one friend. He's 83 years old and has limits. He reminds me of my late father, who was often critical. I wish I had a friend around my age. There's potential in having that but it seems so hard.

One time, on another discussion board, a man was stating that middle-aged men and older could use lessons or pointers from little boys on how to make friends. When I was a little boy, making friends happened easily. At least a lot easier back then than now. That man also stated that he knew of a 56-year-old man who had killed himself because he could not make any male friends around his age. And he was married.

Unfortunately, as we get older, it becomes harder to make friends.
