Years and years ago my husband lost his job. He was union backed. We were pretty sure back then that he was fired for defamation. The union agreed. Even though we had the union on our side-we couldn’t find an attorney that would touch the case. At will employees do t have luck on their side when it comes to trying to sue for wrongful termination. We were told cases have been won, but they were few and far between. Fight the unemployment-and they won. It was pretty harsh. Considering the CEO likes you, you probably won’t have to fight for unemployment. I hope you get the job you interviewed for.
