This is why I think that all drugs should be legalized and we should be able to buy whichever medications we want. A doctor's job should be to advise us not to be the gatekeepers. Most people given the right incentives will not opt to endanger themselves with indiscriminate drug use and for those who do the black market will always be there. The link between dopamine and ADHD is as inescapable as the dread a practitioner must feel when prescribing dopaminergic drugs so it would be fairer on us and them if we could just buy the stimulants legally and of our own volition.
