I've got a young friend that is mentally challenged. When he was growing up and someone called him a "retardo," he was taught to say "Excuse me, but you don't know me. That's your preception of me. What I know and what you think are two different things." hehe I'll never forget that! I half-way expected him to jump up and punch the neighbor that called him that. I was so proud of him!
