I find I go in and out of dissociation all throughout the day. Take this morning, setting up my coffee maker. First I put in the coffee grounds and turned it on and nothing happened. Kept coming back to check and nothing happened. Finally checked the water and bingo, I never put the water in. Or I start to make coffee and walk away, leaving it undone and come back an hour later wondering why there is no coffee. Or forgetting to put the grounds in and just finding hot water in the carafe.

I find the simple chores, very difficult to follow thru.

Are you under a lot of stress, have many distractions or a lot going on at once?Maybe young children, pets, a busy lifestyle?

The reason I ask is I don't have a dissociative disorder yet recently I forgot I turned on the bathroom sink water until I went back in there to a flooded floor.I have waited for the coffee to get done just to realize there was no coffee in it,or no water and have even forgot to turn it on.I go to the store for one specific item and after I get home realize I forgot to get it or paid for it and forgot to take it out to the car.

I could continue telling many more things, things like that happen often for me.But,I have a pretty chaotic life and have to do so much and be so much for everyone that it's hard to stay focused on the task at hand.
