May trigger ~ Description of Dissociation.

Amandalouise ~

[QUOTE=amandalouise;6602803]welcome
my OSDD disorders are macropsia and tachypsychia among others.

Okay, looked up macropsia and tachypsychia. I have talked to my neurologist about my experiences and he does not understand what I am saying or thinks I am making this up. Talking to my psych doc and he just refers me back to my neurologist.

There are other very strange things that happen to me. I have always had what is commonly called the Alice and Wonderland effect, where I suddenly appear too large for my environment or too tiny. One day, when out walking in my neighborhood I experienced strange sensations. The buildings changed into two colors - red and blue. The buildings changed shapes and moved and swayed. I was unable to move during this time. Other things happen such as the landscape changes shape, sways or moves under my feet. Stepping up on curbs oftentimes will change heights, so I can step up to get onto a curb thinking it's two feet high when it might be only several inches. I oftentimes experience altered sounds or suddenly the environment becomea black and white and looses color. I can feel separated from my body or floating feeling, spaced out, deja vuu too. I'm frightened of going into a grocery store as sometimes the shelves move and arch into me and I never know if the shelves are falling into me.With the height of the shelves now it's too much to bear. If I go into a store with shorter shelving, I'm okay.

During a full blown panic attack, the whole word changes. Colors are very sharp, hearing is very loud, blood sugar suddenly drops and I feel as if I am going to faint. I shake so badly that I cannot speak or function. I freeze temporarily until I feel I can seek a safe place.

These are never part of my migraine aura where I experience crystaline shapes that change color in my field of vision, or the smell of burning rubber, metallic taste in my mouth and high pitched ringing in my ears, before a seizure.

Also, the color red. I can't go into Target because everything is red there and the saturation of the color will bring on visual and auditory disturbances.

These are just a few of what I experience that come out of the blue. Sometimes when I have to leave home I will experience panic attacks just minutes after leaving and feel I am in an altered state that I cannot seem to get out of until I arrive back home and bits and pieces of my time outside my home are gone.

It's such a wonder to be able to talk to someone who has experiences such as I. Thank you soo much for responding to my thread. With this knowledge, I can now present myself to be better understood !!
