All good questions. Yes, I have tried both paths. Meds for a short time. I had been prescribed Abilify - took that for a month or so. My second go I was treated for depression, ADHA, and anxiety. I then took a short break from life, started up again and returned to school. I found an amazing mentor, was engaged to be married, started on a career path -and again lost it all. My third go at meds- I was offered Zoloft and after hospitalization, I was prescribed an anti-depressant and anti-psychotic. Joining a support group for my depression was part of my outpatient plan. This was so many years ago - I am now in my thirties. I was diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder then. Since I have been diagnosed with panic disorder too. I do have a difficult time finding people I can relate with. A support group for victims counseling was suggested to me. I feel that my options are limited and expensive. I do feel like a burden, and everyday is a struggle for me.
