Of course it can. But it's not always easy. You say you're exercising. That's excellent - it's been shown to be among the most effective measures when combating this. My feeling on it is that exercise, while certainly having a mental component, is a physical process, increasing endorphins, etc. If Prozac isn't helping any more, and neither is exercise, it might be time to try a different tactic.

There's been a lot of debate over whether medication is more effective than therapy, but I think that it's a personal thing. If you're not seeing a therapist, maybe it's time to start.

Easily the worst thing about depression, at least in my case, is that I have little motivation to do the things that will help me live my life, even if they're obvious to other people. So seeing a therapist is a big, difficult step. But please try, if you can. Sometimes even just doing these little things for ourselves, even if the results aren't spectacular, can help.

Alternately, come and post here. I just joined last week, and I could not be more grateful. Wonderful people here, and generous with the hugs, which we could all use when we're down. If you want to give additional details, you can, there's always someone here to help, but don't be afraid to just ask for a comforting shoulder, either.

*hug* - you'll get through this, one step at a time.
