My room mate's cat is slowly warming up to me, to the point that she'll now cuddle up next to me, when I'm on the couch. She seems healthy. Her owner takes good care of her, she has lots of food and fresh water, and full roam of the apartment.

But she never purrs. Not when she's snuggling, not when she's being petted, not at all. Overall she;s a pretty quiet cat. She doesn't really meow, she just makes this little murp sound when she wants attention.

My room mate got her when she was 4 weeks old, and she was a feral rescue, so I don't think she had much socialization as a cat.

I'm just wondering if anyone can shed some light on her not purring.

Thanks.
