PTSD and bipolar together are hard. I have both. I did exposure therapy for the PTSD about 7 years ago while the therapy was really hard I am so much better having fewer (not gone but reduced) PTSD symptoms.

It sounds like you are taking the right steps. I know finding a therapist can be really hard so hopefully you find the right one soon. I actually drive an hour each way to see mine but that distance wasn't always there.

I'd encourage you to try meds again. Yes, weight gain happens. But it doesn't happen with every med and what causes weight gain for me might not for you. There are also tricks like a diabetes med called metformin that helps with weight loss and preventing weight gain.
