I do not live in your particular forest and so cannot fully reply. In my forest/system I have been "triaged" off to the side. I receive care, but I describe it as "hopefully palliative" rather than curative.

The equation you present seems to me to be an artifact of your upbringing at the hands of ... self-absorbed parental units - I speculate.

I wish I could be more optimistic in approaching what you describe. My own experiences and observations get in the way of optimism.
