I couldn’t drink and take Lithium. About 3yrs ago I drank and ended up in the worst depressive, sui episode and IP for weeks. I haven’t drank since.
The problem is that when you drink you can potentially trigger a bipolar episode and you can’t predict if your mood will go up or down.
But the biggest problem according to pdoc is that alcohol is incredibly dehydrating and dehydration and Lithium just don’t mix.
I no longer take Lithium due to a severe toxicity medical emergency but I’ve not been game to drink.
