My husband and I have made it a family goal to declutter our whole house and donate everything that we do not absolutely need or want. We feel that this will make our home life much simpler. We inherited the family home when my mother in law passed away and there is still a lot to go through. When my father passed away, I received the majority of his things and we also have 30 years of marriage "stuff accumulation". Over the past few years, we have done this a few times, but have still been a bit too sentimental about what really matters and we are going to do a serious paring down.
In reality, I can handle one or two drawers a day or maybe a cabinet. My goal today is the three drawers of my night stand. Yesterday I tackled two junk drawers in the kitchen. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I am chipping away at it until each weekend when my husband is able to make bigger dents.
