I agree and yes that’s what I was taught. My dad was in the military and also had a dad who was very into the whole macho thing and he believes that under no circumstance should you cry. Even at funerals, he’s okay with a bit of emotions being let out but even then he draws a line.

I grew up believing him as a child but once I hit my teenage years, I started to realize that it’s okay to let out your emotions. The only time I disapprove of emotions being used is if it’s to manipulate someone. That’s a turnoff. Otherwise I believe it’s good to let your emotions out.
