I live in Florida too so I understand your fear. TunedOut makes a good point about staying on top of the latest news, but don't watch it constantly. Watching constantly will jack up your anxiety. The TV folks are looking at ratings and act like chicken little.

I started a thread in the social forum titled "hurricane season". Members made some good suggestions. Maybe reading those posts would help you?

One thing that helped with my anxiety was to focus on the things I have control of. I have my supplies. I have an evacuation plan if I need it. When I get scared I remind myself of those things. Am also using self talk when the "what ifs" start.

As for your anxiety, it's expected that we become anxious when something threatens us. This monster storm is a serious threat. It's okay to be scared. Lots of us are.
