Yeah, that's the way to do it! I love it with exp share off.

I've heard that Nintendo is coming out with something called "Pokemon Home" where you can transfer pokemon from the 3DS games to a cloud and access them from the Switch, so I'm pretty excited for that. If I recall correctly, you just upload all your pokemon from the 3DS to the poke bank and then the poke bank connects to "Pokemon Home."

I have a bunch of rare pokemon that I wouldn't mind importing to Sword/Shield, especially since I did a lot of grinding w/ exp share off...
