Well, I suspect it does. Since about 2006 I have been eating less food than required for me (like 1000 cals) and I was shocked to discover in 2010 that my BP and my heart rate had fallen from when I was younger. I had normal BP and lower heart rate and none of my family had that. Just 7 years before my BP was higher and so was my heart rate.

Over the past two years I have made an effort to increase my metabolism (had it tested) and when it finally got to the point that it should be... normal for my weight and height... my heart rate increased by 10 points (you can say 15) and BP has increased to normal / high.

I have decided to slow my metabolism again. I feel better when it is slow and I just have to presume having low / normal BP is good for you.

I am not fasting but I think I might consider it if necessary.
