So basically you are tricking students into "falling for" something, yet you criticize the woman and therapists for doing the same thing? Why are the students the ones to be held in contempt rather than you? Or is it perhaps that you "fell for" stuff the woman said, and are taking out your anger towards her and yourself by replicating this with students - only with yourself in the position of power?
I think your contempt for them is your contempt for yourself - either for believing the woman, or maybe for wanting to believe her if you didn't actually buy what she was selling. Whatever the case, acting out your anger about the woman and whatever nonsense she said at unsuspecting students is not only "not useful," but also pretty unjust.
