so my eldest son (10) is autistic...asperger's syndrome. he's supposed to see a child autism specialist once a year. this year his appt. was brought forward 6 months...coz his doc thought he's been misdiagnosed and wasn't autistic after all coz of the phenomenal progress he's made since diagnosis. he's in the gifted-plus category at school and devoured al the info he could find on autism when he was first diagnosed but...lmao y'all gotta laugh at this next bit...

when he saw the specialist he told her...he is def still autistic but he's learning to assimilate like Data in star trek...like by observing other ppl he learns how to be... I.E. if your girlfriend cries...give her a hug, don't sit scratching your head wondering why. if your baby bro falls down...pick him up, don't stand wondering why he's such a klutz to fall down anyways...LMAO he made us all laugh....and thank goodness for star trek coz...in my son's case...copying Data seems to work....LOL bless his sweet little brain
