Some people think babies are puppets or clay they can mold into perfect citizens. Some people think babies are one step above having a babydoll to cuddle and feed, then place on the shelf when life gets in the way - or when the babydoll won't stop crying. Some people think babies are like puppies - to train, order around and perform tricks for them. Some people think they have the money and resources to raise a child to adulthood. Some people think their community or relatives will help them out if they get in a bind and need help raising their child.

I wish people would think long and hard before having a child. A child is the most precious gift of all, but it is also a major sacrifice, headache and source of sleepless nights for the rest of your life - that is, if you care about your child.

I will pray for the Busby children - and their mother too. How tragic.
