My psychiatrist of 12 years+ has always been resistant to working with my therapists. I don't quite know why. Maybe more work than he wants? He does give me a good 20 to 25 minutes (and occasionally more) so heard a lot of what my therapist does. He has his own practice, so no therapists are on the premises. I do see him more often than most. He's super responsive to my calls and has taken note of messages past therapists left for him. He just doesn't want to talk to them.

There was once, over 12 years ago, that I had a therapist that worked in a group with my then psychiatrist. Their cooperation? They both agreed to quit me when I refused to stay in an IOP after a hospitalization. I was then left with no therapist or psychiatrist at that time. I ended up staying in the IOP, who had to help me find both a new tdoc and pdoc. I believe I was returned to the hospital in between.
