Has anyone used coaching or private "lessons" or hired a efficiency expert, personal trainer, etc. to help meet some goals?

I'm writing a novel and have hired a local college English professor who also happens to be a psychotherapist with a private practice. We work through e-mail and it's kind of nice being able to work on "two" things; myself and writing and what it means to me, etc. I ask questions and make observations, have sent pictures, etc. and tell her what I'm reading as well as both of us commenting on what I'm writing and how that's going. It helps me keep on task better and actually produce stuff, which is why I'm doing it.

I did have a personal trainer for a few lessons at a gym but had medical problems and had to quit going to the gym, plus it was too expensive. Before I moved 2-3 years ago I got a personal organizer to help with what to throw out and doing that and holding a huge yard sale, etc. I really downsized and had been in my old home for 20+ years and it was full to the gills
