Lately when I get upset about the pressure we keep getting from our managers I remind myself that they are being pressured too. The whole reason they are coming down so hard on us is because someone is coming down hard on them. Then I really appreciate the managers who are always fair and reasonable because I realize that they are likely being pressured by their boss and choosing not to do the same thing to me. It’s the same with coworkers. Someone is pressuring or stressing them out and that’s the reason I’m getting stress from them. Sometimes it helps me and sometimes it doesn’t. The workplace really can be the biggest source of anxiety and I wish I knew the secret to better coping skills. Some of my coworkers have told me they drink to cope with the stress but that’s not an option I would like so I just try to talk or think my way through the issues.
