I hope to get back to it. I also use them on my body in carrier oils. My favorite carrier oils being jojoba and almond.
I am glad you have mentioned these, fern. Many diffuse lavender for anxiety/relaxation, and sleep.
I love peppermint and myrrh. Myrrh is often used in spiritual "initiations."
There are many I cannot use because I react to them in a bad way.. I react to many substances/scents, even "natural" ones.

In general, I have seen essential oils be very helpful to many.

I don't usually have any issues with natural scents, but I have an aversion to most perfumes/colognes. In my early marriage, my husband would buy me perfume. He really likes when women wear it, but I can't stand it. I feel l can't breathe when I smell most perfumes. I sometimes cough. My skin is also quite sensitive to certain things containing heavy perfumes. Some have caused me to develop rashes. Again, not usually natural scents. I think that if I get a natural scented oil just for sniffing now and then, it will be nice. I doubt I'd want to put it on my skin, even so. I usually use Dove soap or a chamomile bath wash. Shampoos tend to mostly be OK for me, but I've had a few cause irritation. Whenever I've started a new medication, I've been sure not to change products for a while. That's important.
