No, no one needs it. I'm deaf, I'm lucky that I can take my hearing aids off and reduce noise, but when I'm like that light has noise too, movement and shadows are too much to handle. I once saw a futuristic model house that had a small room with a long very tall tunnel to the sky so you could see the stars. I always thought that would be a cool feature to have in a house. A sound prof room all in black with a very tall skylight.
