I was recently on birth control pills for an ovary problem for about 5 months. During this time, my acne went away. No more of those painful, red "undergrounders" that scar and take forever to go away. Yes, I had antibiotics before, but I found birth control pills worked way better. Now I am off the birth control for the last 6 weeks and my acne and oily skin are back with a vengeance. I am using the antibiotics I have but they no longer seem effective.
I'm wondering if it would be worth it to go back on birth control pills just for the sake of my skin? Do the benefits of no acne outweigh the negatives of taking daily hormones?
I guess I should ask my doctor....
