Have you considered Christina's suggestion above? The secret to me tolerating my Seroquel XR very well is to take it (and my other evening medications) preferably at 7 pm, or 8 pm at the latest. That helps me to avoid any "Seroquel XR hangover" and I think it might help similarly, to some degree, with regular Seroquel. I will say that after years on Seroquel XR, it actually takes a good 2 to 4 hours after taking my meds, for me to get sleepy. It's not as instant as it was years ago, when I first started taking it. Also, doses of 25 to 50 mg regular, during the day, no longer make me tired. I've grown tolerant. Such doses do still help me with anxiety and mild agitation, though.
My husband told me to bring my PRN regular Seroquel with me on my trip. I have been fine, but people have noted my increased energy. I did a LOT today.
