Hi Wild Coyote. Again, I totally agree with Christina again and the other responses that followed.
My father-in-law was a psychiatrist and neurologist. My husband told me that his father actually DID try many psychotropic medications despite not having any kind of mental illness. Stuff for neurological conditions, too. He did so because he wanted to see what some patients may be experiencing. He didn't try them long-term, though.
I don't see how/why 100 mg Lamictal in the morning and 300 mg at night would be not worth trying. That was your thought you mentioned. Of course I don't mean to influence how you take your meds, but there are times when we need to experiment. I confess that I have done so with past meds.
I have only taken 100 mg of Lamictal these last seven years, and have always taken it in the morning. I don't take any Lamictal at night. I see Lamictal as strictly an antidepressant for me. My other meds control my manias. Seroquel XR and Latuda do both, actually.
