I think you start in the spring, it depends how fast you want to go through the days though. You can go to bed in game and restart the day as often as you want if you just wanted to rush through straight to fall. It's a great game, you really should get it! I'm in winter now, I've played a total of about 10 hours and just got into winter but I didn't rush through
