Please, if you are a relative of someone in the hospital and/or newly diagnosed, take heed. Your loved one is not being a selfish drama queen. This is not about you at all; they are not behaving this way to spite or embarrass you. This is not about a failure to be responsible. It is not about being lazy or weak. No, getting one's **** together won't solve this neither will demanding they pick up their britches. This is not going to go away. There is no cure. Your loved one is going to have to live with this and manage it the rest of their life. And they will need you to accomplish that. So pull up your own britches, get your head out of your behind, have a little empathy for a change, and at least try to be supportive.
