How do you ladies feel about this. I was reading a huff post article that was very pro-sex during your period. I have had sex during my period but only by accident, as it came while I was doing it and I didnt know until after. The article had some good points. It mentioned how the world is still super uncomfortable with periods and how its almost taboo to talk about it. That we should be ashamed of something our bodies naturally go through. The article said many men do not understand it all that well, have never seen it so its automatically disgusting to them. Part of the issue the article said is our exposure to blood is mostly due to horror movies and graphic content. Its always a negative so subliminally we are predisposed to feel a certain way. it also stated that many women experience raised hormones and sexual desire which I do experience. Sometimes I wonder if I was cursed to want to be intimate with my husband badly but be stuck with my period.
Proper care should be taken like a dark towel to prevent mess, showers afterward. But I dont know... is this bad? Good? Should we just chill out about our periods already? Are we supposed to graphically "educate" the men in our lives about it? I cant even imagine my husband's face:
"I went to the bank today oh and my period flow is very heavy. Pass the potatoes please".
