I recall reading, somewhere, that physical exercise, in-&-of-itself, is not a weight loss technique. Plus I believe muscle weighs more than fat. So it well may make sense you gained that 3 pounds.
I don't have a weight problem myself. But I do find that when I'm stressed (which is a lot of the time) I feel the urge to gorge myself on something. (Mixed nuts are one of my go-to snacks.) What I do is to simply sit with the urge to go eat something. I feel it in all of it's intensity. (And sometimes it is pretty intense.) I breathe into it & perhaps even smile to it. It's the practice that is known as "compassionate abiding". And it's how I try to respond to all of my anxieties, intrusive thoughts, & other similar experiences. I would have to admit it doesn't work perfectly all the time. (Don't I wish.) But it helps.
