My partner is a blacksmith, rare for a woman, but her smithy has been haunted all the time her Grandfather worked at the forge, and continues this day.
She has seen a phantom cat, though Sooty, her's, is used to the spectre by now. It's really strange, but when she saw the cat, she took a photo on her phone, but the image never showed up. Also there is an old man seen around this time of the year and especially we look out for him on 31st October: All Hallows.
Neither cat spectre or the old man are harmful. They appear to be floating a few inches above the forge floor, and my partner thinks that the floor may have been built higher about 200 years ago when her previous relatives worked here. Perhaps the ghosts are on a different time plane? I don't know. My partner when she did some building work and renos also saw a spook. Passed her on the stairs it did. If it were me, I'd have shrieked.
The previous hospital I worked at as a doctor when on nightshift, sometimes my colleagues would see some spirit in the form of a patient gliding down an old corridor. During my night shifts I've seen a spook which resembled a silvery-grey veil, but certainly felt an unusually chilly area where I was positive had a presence, albeit unseen. Also down in the hospital's mortuary. Well, yeah exactly. Maybe it was an ancient mortician because there was a story going around that a mortician died while at work.
There were quite a few places in the hospital where nobody liked being in. Even our admins complained and were moved to another office, and one of them had such a scare that she resigned. Usually we doctors were far too busy to notice. Typical NHS pressures we had to work under.
Really, it's much better if people leave ghosting alone, because I believe this occult side can be potentially dangerous to delicate minds.
