I play piano and flute. I've been playing flute since 4th grade (six years) and piano for two years. I guess I could be considered intermediate in both. I'm just now learning expression on the piano since I recently got a digital piano with fully-weighted keys. And I tend to consistently be second chair when I play flute, but I really prefer playing harmonies.

I got many compliments on my piccolo-playing when I was in marching band, but I hated that thing with a passion.
