Slightly off-topic, but I note you lived in Venezuela. All along our beaches are breakwaters built from extremely tough Greenheart, a hardwood that is shipped from that country.

It's extremely heavy! In its unseasoned raw form has to be handled with care, for the wood is poisonous, especially if people get splinters. Expensive to build, but this splendid hardwood lasts almost a lifetime.
Footnote on wasps: We've cautioned our kids to avoid our fruit trees because wasps are having a booze up party on fallen apples. Totally. Legless. Wasps, I mean, not me.
