I think it's really good that you want to stop the cycle of running!
I think you're feeling better about it now and want to go again, talk about what happened, and see how that goes. I don't think there's a right or wrong and what we out here think doesn't matter. It's what you think and feel that matters. It could be good growth potential to be able to walk in and say you didn't like the direct and detailed questions from the first session and see how that goes.
I think it could be good. Maybe the shock of the directness has settled down some and now you feel that his questions showed that he was listening to you and wanted to let you know you could talk about any part of it with him. That's great, and you can still tell him how you feek about it being so intense so soon. The pace is for you to set and can be changed as you go. Perhaps right now you just want to go slower and that's okay.
