I don't think it makes any difference what type of vehicle one has when it comes to catalytic converters. What the thieves are after is the converter because it contains valuable metals that can be sold. And every catalytic converter has them. The only consideration is ease of access. The quicker the thief can get under the vehicle & cut the converter loose the more likely it is the vehicle will be targeted especially if it's parked in a dark or isolated location. I don't know how this is where you live. But where I live this seems to be an ongoing problem.

Good luck replacing your 15-year-old car. Our vehicle (a CRV) is about 11 years old (I think.) Fortunately we have a garage we're able to keep our old SUV in. Plus we don't do a lot of driving. So it's still in good shape.
