In my current situation (hopefully also changing) there is a new guy coming on board that has been totally rude to me both on the phone and in person - but when the boss is watching, he is just so sweet (and fake) and playfully hits me on the shoulder.... Grrrrrrrr
So! I am planning a little speech (since I am also quiet) for monday when he comes on full time... for the first time he bullies me into doing something for him.
I plan to say:
"Let's get something straight here - I am not a peon. Yes, I am your support staff and I am here to make you succeed. But I will be treated with respect and my time is just as important as yours. So - when you have something for me to do, you will ASK me if I can do it. If it is a priority, ASK me if I can rush it. Now then, what was it you were ASKING me to do for you???"
I am practicing it a lot, so it rolls right off my tongue. I have to take the upper hand right away here or i will become a trapled mat (again). I think my boss (a very stong female) will be ok with my saying that. Though I may be wrong - she REALLY likes him and already lowballed me for glaring at him. *sigh*.
