Not sure about better or worse. Know there is a school of thought..among therapists...that they should never ask to speak to a specific alter. That it encourages separation. Also probably therapist induced DID. That was a big thing once. Some therapists still don't believe DID exists. Attended a conference locally that my T was speaking at & was astounded at how prevalent this is. That was even after another MD presented PET scans etc that showed a difference in brain functioning.

Altho we are now more likely to ask our T to speak to one, as co-consciousness has enlightened us when another needs intevention, we remember the old days when a younger one would leave therapy. Totally incapable of driving. That was dangerous.

For us, different insiders hold memories unbeknownst to others. For us to function as a whole, those memories, bad and good, need to be known. Bad ones are hard to process. There are ones that had no good memories. That is incredibly sad.
