It's a mind altering substance for sure and when I was in school decades ago--they said it was not addictive. Studies now show that is not necessary true. Yes, your withdrawal will not kill you but I have seen people become irritated, unable to sleep and left without as many distractions from their physical and mental pain. It is a serious substance. It is as mentally addictive as alcohol.
