It comes and goes for me. It also alternates between wanting to harm and wanting to be harmed. The problem is that it's often unexpected, and I can't make plans to go to the gym and kick the stuffing out of the punching bags.
I have done what Jan has suggested, though, in the past, punching my bed/pillow, and screaming into the pillow. I don't think the screaming itself helps as much as the self-realization that you look like an idiot while you're doing it...
