I would recommend a psychologist or any person that wants to support you into solving the problems rather than taking meds.
Same as with meds for physical symptoms, it can reduce the symptoms, but it doesn't solve the problems, so you might have to endlessly take meds, possibly take more meds for the side effects of the other meds with the chance things only get worse. Sometimes problems can be quite easy to solve by finding flaws in a person's thinking or behavior or maybe the behavior of the people in the environment of a person have a certain effect on the person this person doesn't fully understand and therefore doesn't know how to deal with it properly.
