Many policies prevent people like you from getting the help they need and desire. The help you need may include medication for some level of stabilization, but what if you are treatment-resistant and cannot get stabilized? Do they ignore your wants to process what is potentially underlying your depression, perhaps because they risk the worsening of your SI?
Could they not offer coping skills instead of IP and meds? A DBT or CBT treatment might help you.
