Maybe not PC for city dwellers but the reality is the overpopulation of deer is very harmful for the eco system. About 10 years ago they put a limit of up to 8-10 per person! Food banks were filled to the Max, so much going to soup kitchens. The herds had to be thinned. Around us more people than not depend on venison to feed them year round as long as they process and freeze correctly.

There are reports of more of the “ wasting disease “ is growing and now there is a form of tuberculosis being found in deer up North.. these animals need to be removed from breeding.

As long as a hunter eats or donates what they harvest I have no problems. Trophy hunters ??? I loath that they exist.. monsters !
