Does any of you listen to the Psych Central Podcast? And to the episode about feeling your anxiety?
The guest on the show says many people will talk about their thoughts and worries when they're asked about their feelings of anxiety, rather than the feelings themselves. The way I understood, she thinks it's important to put all the thoughts aside and really feel the feelings to figure about what they are about and what triggers them.
To me, however, my anxiety is mostly _only_ feelings. I sometimes think about smth, and go over the same things again and again, but for the most part, I _don't_ think when I'm anxious. And when I'm depressed too, for that matter. It's like all those bad feelings are pre-verbal, like I don't have any words connected to them at all. But it doesn't make it any easier to figure out what exactly they are about or what triggers them.
Does anyone else experience anxiety (and/or depression) the same way I am?
And have I misunderstood what "feeling your feelings" are about? Does anyone know more about this?
