I can't comment on your concerns specifically. But I noticed you had yet to receive replies to this post. So I thought I would write one.

I recall during my first hospitalization I was put on Effexor. And the very first night I was on it, it made me so nervous I was awake all that night. The next day I was switched to Effexor XR & that made the difference. Most of the time, when I was on antidepressants I usually took trazadone for sleep.

I also have tinnitus by the way. At one point, when mine was particularly difficult, my psychiatrist gave me a prescription for Klonopin & that brought the volume back down to a tolerable level. Later on I was able to get back off of it & now I no longer take any psych med's at all (other any other med's either for that matter.)
