It's most unfortunate that doctors will take an incredible amount of time out of their time explaining how a drug(s) causes a liver injury, when they'll only utter one sentence about it BEFORE the damage is done. It certainly appears as though medicine reactive when it should be proactive/preventative.

I am thinking it's up to us to help to educate our peers.
