Maybe you can ask your mum if there's anything new that she's wanted to try and for whatever reason hasn't been able to.
You could even try to just talk about different topics, or eat food you've never tasted if it's really difficult to find a new activity.
As for what I do to try and change my routine once in a while, I search for local events and try to find anything that interests me or my family. But of course, there may not be much to do, depending on where you live.
