Well said and I too often have dreams very similar. A recurring pattern i've noticed is a giant tidal wave so big it covers the horizon, rushing straight towards land but instead of feeling an overwhelming panic, I feel a sense of calm and acceptance - like you mentioned, "This time I wasn't afraid, as I knew I would survive the wave. I don't know how I knew, but I knew the wave wouldn't hurt me." Sometimes I even dive into the wave knowing that everything will be okay.
