Everyone reacts differently to medications.

Most Pdocs start a person on a medication at lowest dose and you see how it’s working for you and your particular symptoms. If it’s not helping after a reasonable amount of time then your Pdoc will increase dose and again a reasonable amount of time is needed to see if it will help. Then maybe move onto another medication.

It can be aggravating at times some medications might have side effects you just can’t tolerate..

A person truly needs to have patience when it comes to trying meds to see what helps with the symptoms and you can tolerate any possible side effects.

One thing I say right off the bat I have never met a psych med that doesn’t cause dry mouth.... so be prepared to have water handy 24/7

Here’s proof we all act differently on meds.

I have Bipolar so does my daughter, I took Lithium and at the time is really helped me find stability. She took it and couldn’t sleep and had hallucinations. She took Seroquel and literally couldn’t lift her head off her pillow, very low dose 200mg , I took 800mg and was lucky to sleep 3 hours.

So while you all over the internet reading and watch videos keep in mind we are all so totally different.
